About this deal

For us, the surround-sound experience wasn’t as awe-inspiring as we had hoped. The bass mode seemed a lot more impressive at updating the quality of sound. Dialogue is crisp and clear, and the headphones pump out brilliant responses to music too.

In the next part, I will share if this headset is not suitable for gaming. Sennheiser RS 175: For Gaming Coming complete with a separate wireless transmitter (TR175), the RS175-U headphones enjoy a range around ten times further standard Bluetooth headphones. This lets you use them all around your home and even out into the garden.First things first let’s talk about the wireless transmission itself. Opting for a type of digital wireless transmission instead of the traditional Radio Frequency means that they can send a higher quality of signal and keep things even more crisp and spatially accurate whilst still maintaining the allure of being able to move from room to room. Confusingly, digital wireless transmission is considered “Line of Sight” meaning that technically the sender should be able to see the headphones. In practice though not only does Sennheiser state you can move from room to room but I’ve even tried them and had no issue, so I’m not really sure why they’ve stated it.

There are no complicated controls to worry about with these headphones. The volume up/down controls are on the right cup, along with controls for adjusting bass and surround sound settings. There’s also a power button and indicator LED to show you how much battery you have. It provides a livelier and dimensional sound that gives you a home theatre feel. It also has a good treble and decent mid-range. The only other slight issue I have is really getting used to the volume controls on the right hand side earpiece. The + and - (volume up and down) buttons are close together and quite a few times I have pressed the control above these two and activated the bass boost (which is not really needed at all in my opinion). It would be much better if the 'bass boost" and "surround sound" buttons were on the left hand side thus separating the three functions. They have the following connections available, Digital Audio out, 3.5 mm. Stereo, 6.3 mm. Stereo and RCA connections so they will be adaptable to a variety of situations. The RS 165 has only BASS mode and analog input. But with RS 175 you have both BASS and surround sound mode with analog and digital input options. Like I alluded to before, the digital transmission also improves the sound quality, and this is pushed even further with the utilisation of both “Bass Boost” and “Surround Sound Listening Modes”. The Bass Boost of course improves bass response and overall bass accuracy, with the surround sound modes giving you greatly improved spatial and lively audio.

Customer Service

To troubleshoot frequent sound cut-off issues with the Sennheiser RS 175 headphones, you can follow these steps: Go through the next part, and you will be able to make your decision. Who Should Buy This Headphone? This system needs a whole setup. So taking the transmitter and headset with you outside on a walk will look funny and awkward too. The status LED turns red, and you will hear a beep sound from the headphone when the battery is almost empty.
