I think The Addams Family humor is subtle and timeless. Even now reading the old comics, they are funny and absurd. Some of pictures aren’t obvious at first either, and they’re mostly visual, so you spend time looking at them, finding what’s out of place. I very much enjoyed this book. In 1964, the live-action television series premiered on ABC and ran for two seasons. It subsequently inspired a telefilm titled Halloween with the New Addams Family and cameos from the cast in other shows. An unrelated animated series aired in 1973. The franchise was revived in the 1990s with a feature film series consisting of The Addams Family (1991) and Addams Family Values (1993). The films inspired a second animated series (1992–1993) which is set in the same fictional universe. The series was rebooted with a 1998 direct-to-video film and a spin-off live-action television series (1998–1999). In 2010, a live musical adaptation featuring Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth opened on Broadway and was nominated for two Tony Awards and eight Drama Desk Awards. The series again rebooted in 2019 with the animated film The Addams Family, which led to a sequel in 2021. In 2022, Netflix debuted the original series Wednesday, which is a spin-off to the original 1964 series. ( July 2015) ( Learn how and when to remove this template message) Eigentlich ist es ja ein Kinderbuch für junge Leseratten ab 8 Jahren, aber dieses Buch hat definitiv das Potential dazu auch jugendliche bzw. erwachsene Leser zu begeistern. Mit den kurz gehaltenen, leicht verständlichen Sätzen ist der Schreibstil richtig einfach zu lesen und sollte auch für die Kleinen keinerlei Probleme darstellen. Was mir bei diesem Buch ganz besonders gut gefällt ist die gesunde Mischung aus schaurig und humorvoll. And there is AT LAST, a very good explanation as to why the 90’s films focused so much on Uncle Fester! Apparently he had always been Chas Addams favorite, and the one he felt REALLY depicted himself (don’t ask…). There is also a fairly decent justification as to why his place within the family keeps changing from adaptation to adaptation, as Fester’s relation to the Addams was never defined, and he was very much a “stand alone” character. (Oh, and he is much more evil here than in any other adaptation)

Im Mittelteil des Buches sind ein paar Bildausschnitte aus dem neuen Film zu sehen, die mir richtig gut gefallen und die gelesenen Szenen gut darstellen. Es handelt sich um ein Buch zum neuen Kino Film “The Addams Family”. Das Buch ist genauso wie der Film aufgebaut und alles ist sehr gut beschrieben. Aber es gibt auch keine Überraschungen, wenn man den Film kennt. Dem soll nun dieses Sachbuch über die "Evilution" (dabei sind sie doch gar nicht evil!) Abhilfe schaffen, das mir Adam passenderweise zum All Hallows Read geschenkt hat.
